C H E T O N A- Nurturing Generations, Empowering Mothers
In many parts of our country, Mother and Child Health (MCH) remains a fragile domain often neglected due to lack of awareness, access, or understanding. Recognizing the urgent need to bridge this gap, Project C H E T O N A was conceived as a comprehensive and compassionate initiative to safeguard and uplift the well being of mothers and children, particularly in underserved communities.
Our Mission
The project’s foremost goal is to educate, engage, and empower communities on matters of maternal and child health, while also ensuring that they are fully aware of and equipped to access government supported MCH schemes and services.
C H E T O N A is structured as an integrated, grassroots healthcare program, offering not only information but also sustained support to reduce mortality rates, improve child nutrition, and promote safe and informed parenthood.
Core Objectives and Action Areas-
1. Reducing Maternal and Child Mortality
We aim to significantly reduce the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), Neonatal and Post Neonatal Mortality, Under Five Mortality, and Maternal Mortality by promoting awareness on critical health stages including Antenatal Care, Postnatal Care, and Immunization.
2. Empowering Mothers Through Education
We believe that an informed mother is an empowered caregiver. Through nutrition counselling and health education, we help mothers understand the evolving physical and emotional needs of their children and themselves, ensuring better decisions for healthier futures.
3. Strengthening Community Health Ecosystems
C H E T O N A builds capacity at the community level by sensitizing and training Public Health Supervisors, Traditional Birth Attendants (Dais), Village Health Workers, and Family Members to fulfil their roles effectively and compassionately.
4. Promoting Family Planning and Reproductive Health
Educating families about family planning options empowers them to make informed choices, leading to better health outcomes, economic stability, and enhanced quality of life for all members.
5. Blending Traditional and Modern Healthcare Wisdom
We value both ancestral knowledge and modern science. By integrating traditional healing practices with evidence based medical care, we offer communities a more relatable and acceptable health framework.
6. Cleanliness, Sanitation and Hygiene Awareness
A clean environment is foundational to good health. We actively promote personal hygiene, clean birthing practices, safe water use, and sanitation education to reduce infections and disease spread.
7. Accessing Government Schemes
Many families are unaware of the assistance available to them. Through structured awareness drives, community sessions, and direct support, C H E T O N A informs families about key Government MCH programs and assists them in availing those services efficiently and with dignity.
The Human Touch
Every workshop we conduct, every health camp we organize, every mother we counsel, and every child we reach is part of a broader vision- a vision where no mother dies giving life, and no child is denied the right to grow healthy, loved, and strong.
With C H E T O N A, we are not just spreading awareness; we are planting hope, one village at a time.
