Priyobondhu (Social Welfare Society) is deeply committed to fostering the holistic development
At the heart of our mission lies the unwavering commitment to the holistic development and empowerment of women and children, particularly those from marginalized and underserved communities. Our objectives are both compassionate and strategic, designed to address immediate needs while fostering long term transformation.
We strive to equip women with vocational training and income generating skills, enabling them to attain economic self sufficiency and social independence. By facilitating opportunities in traditional sectors such as culinary arts, agriculture, animal husbandry, sericulture, handlooms, and handicrafts, we aim to preserve cultural heritage while enhancing livelihoods.
Our child focused initiatives provide comprehensive care and protection, including health check ups, immunizations, nutritional support, and early childhood education. For children living in vulnerable conditions such as street children we offer safe shelters, sanitation, access to clean drinking water, educational support, and psychosocial care to safeguard them from exploitation and neglect.
We prioritize inclusive and quality education for underprivileged girls, ensuring they are not denied the right to learn, grow, and lead. Through targeted interventions, we address maternal and child mortality by promoting health awareness, food security, and improved access to public healthcare services.
A key tenet of our work is the protection of women and children from social injustices, abuse, and systemic discrimination. We promote awareness of legal rights and social entitlements, ensuring every woman and child is treated with dignity and afforded equal opportunities.
Our programs also focus on the holistic development of adolescents, particularly girls, by empowering them through education, life skills, mentorship, and awareness campaigns tailored to their unique needs and challenges.
For women facing distressing or vulnerable circumstances, we offer comprehensive support emotional, social, and economic enabling them to rebuild their lives with confidence, independence, and hope.
Ultimately, our objectives converge on a singular vision, a society where every woman and child can realize their full potential, free from the constraints of poverty, ignorance, and inequity of women and children, with a particular focus on marginalized, asset less, and vulnerable populations. The organization believes that empowering women and safeguarding children are essential prerequisites for building equitable and sustainable communities.
Central to its mission is the economic empowerment of women. To this end, Priyobondhu offers comprehensive vocational training and income generating programs designed to equip women with the skills necessary to become financially self reliant. These programs span a wide range of sectors including agriculture, dairy, animal husbandry, fisheries, sericulture, handlooms, and handicrafts enabling women to secure employment or initiate entrepreneurial ventures rooted in traditional industries.
Priyobondhu also places strong emphasis on health and well being, providing integrated services to children and pregnant women. These include health awareness campaigns, immunization drives, regular check ups, and nutritional support, all aimed at promoting maternal and child health and reducing mortality. Access to health education ensures that women are informed about critical issues affecting their families and communities, leading to healthier outcomes over time.
To support working women and ensure child welfare, the society offers comprehensive day care services that go beyond custodial care. These include rest and recreation facilities, supplementary nutrition, timely immunizations, and basic medical care all structured to ensure a safe, nurturing environment for children during the day.
Priyobondhu also addresses the needs of street children, a population often overlooked and at heightened risk of exploitation. Through drop in centers and night shelters, the society provides access to food, clean drinking water, sanitation, healthcare, and education. Recreational and developmental activities are integrated into the programming to create a sense of belonging and safety for these children. Protection from abuse and exploitation is a key priority, and support systems are put in place to reintegrate them into mainstream society.
A major thrust of Priyobondhu’s work lies in educational access for girls. The organization actively works to break barriers that prevent underprivileged girls from attending school and ensures that they are provided with the resources, mentorship, and encouragement needed to thrive academically and socially.
Awareness building is another cornerstone. Priyobondhu implements campaigns to educate communities about maternal and child nutrition, public healthcare services, and food security. These efforts aim to improve health outcomes and build resilience among women and children living in precarious conditions.
Recognizing that women and children are often victims of social injustice and discrimination, the organization undertakes initiatives to protect their rights and dignity. Legal education, psychosocial support, and access to services are made available to ensure their safety and independence.
Priyobondhu also empowers adolescent girls through dedicated training programs that focus on life skills, health awareness, and educational support, preparing them for a future of autonomy and confidence.
Finally, women in distress whether due to domestic violence, abandonment, or socio-economic hardship receive targeted support that helps them regain their independence and live with dignity.
Through this multifaceted approach, Priyobondhu continues to build a future where every woman and child has the opportunity to live a healthy, educated, and empowered life

Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Program
The Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Program is designed to equip girls and women, particularly those from underserved communities with comprehensive knowledge and resources to manage menstruation safely, confidently, and with dignity.
A core objective is to educate girls about menstruation prior to menarche, fostering early understanding of the biological changes associated with puberty. The program further aims to raise awareness among adolescent girls and women regarding safe menstrual practices, while actively working to dismantle deep rooted social taboos and stigmas. Through a holistic, rights based approach, the MHM program aspires to create a supportive ecosystem where menstruation is normalized, understood, and managed without shame or barriers.
Awareness and Prevention Program on Safe, Unsafe, and Unwanted Touch for the Girl Child
This program is designed to promote awareness, protection, and prevention by educating young girls on how to recognize and respond to safe, unsafe, and unwanted touch.
The primary objective is to help girls understand personal boundaries, and to identify what constitutes respectful, appropriate, and permissible behavior from others. It empowers them with the confidence to respond assertively when those boundaries are crossed.
The initiative also places strong emphasis on-
Respecting a girl's right to autonomy, including her right to say “no”.
Affirming her voice and choices in all interpersonal interactions
Equipping girls with basic self-defence skills to enhance their sense of safety and personal agency
By fostering awareness and resilience, the program aims to build a generation of girls who are informed, empowered, and confident in asserting their rights and protecting themselves in any environment.
Disaster Response and Humanitarian Relief
Natural disasters and calamities have long disrupted the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable communities. In response to such crises, our organization undertakes comprehensive humanitarian relief efforts aimed at addressing both immediate and long-term needs.
Our interventions include the distribution of food supplies to combat hunger, along with basic essentials, preparedness and survival kits, and access to critical health services. Beyond emergency relief, we are also committed to rehabilitation and restoration, helping affected individuals and communities rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.
Through a timely, coordinated, and compassionate approach, we strive to reduce suffering and support recovery in the aftermath of every disaster.
Establishment of Mental Health and Wellness Centres
The initiative aims to establish Mental Health and Wellness Centres that serve as inclusive, safe spaces dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles and behaviours, while fostering awareness around mental health and emotional wellbeing.
These centres will offer comprehensive mental health services, working closely with individuals, families, and communities experiencing psychological challenges. The objective is not only to provide counselling, therapy, and clinical support including medication, coaching, and referrals, but also to address and dismantle societal stigma surrounding mental illness.
By integrating mental health into the broader framework of community wellness, the initiative aspires to cultivate resilient, informed, and emotionally empowered populations, equipped to manage mental health with openness and dignity.
